What is a Swedish Massage
The term “Swedish Massage” (table massage) refers to a variety of massage techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart.  It involves the use of kneading, stroking, friction, tapping, and vibration and provides relief from stiffness, numbness, pain, constipation, and other health problems.

The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Other benefits include stimulation of circulation, an increase in muscle tone, reducing emotional and physical stress, and a balance of the musculo-skeletal systems. Swedish massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing heart load.As with all massage treatments, it is recommended to inform your practitioner of any medical conditions you may have.  It is best to avoid heavy meals and alcohol in the hours leading up to your massage service (whether it is swedish massage or otherwise).  Massage is Therapy for the Soul……

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation.  Because of this, Reiki promotes healing and health.  The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power” and Ki which means “life force energy.” The Reiki system of healing is a technique for transmitting this subtle energy to yourself and others through the hands into the human energy system.  Reiki restores energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional effect of unreleased stress.  It gently and effectively opens blocked meridians, nadis and chakras, and clears the energy bodies, leaving one feeling relaxed and at peace. For those of you who have experienced Reiki, I practice the Usui Reiki method.

What is Distance Reiki?

Reiki distance healing can be performed at any distance from the recipient. When performing Reiki certain Reiki symbols are activated.  One of the primary symbols activated in Distance Healing is “Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen”.  It is made up entirely of Japanese Kanji.  It means, “The Buddha in me reaches out to the Buddha in you to promote enlightenment and peace.”  It is used to send Reiki to anyone at any location and any time!

A mutually convenient time is normally arranged, although a Reiki Master can send healing to anyone at any time, which is a fascinating and intriguing aspect of the concept.
